Job Title: Health and Safety Field Manager

Chord Energy seeks a seasoned Health and Safety Field Manager to lead the field H&S staff in providing support and technical health and safety services to the field operations team.

This role is based in downtown Houston, Texas, and will report to the Corporate Health and Safety Manager. The successful candidate will support Chord Energy's staff in North Dakota and Canada.

The Health and Safety Field Manager will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • H&S Management Systems: Assess existing H&S Management System implementation, develop and implement continual improvement plans and processes based on gaps, H&S requirements, and new or existing regulations.
  • Hazard and Risk Management: Coordinate H&S compliance activities, manage the vendor group filing required regulatory and permits and reports. Ensure Risk Management processes are implemented and effective.
  • Training and Competence: Develop and maintain a listing of H&S competencies, identify training resources to ensure H&S competency requirements are met, and ensure H&S training records are kept.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Identify resources to create emergency response plans and provide training to staff.
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation: Review all incidents reported, ensuring investigations are completed as required, action items are appropriate, and completed as planned.
  • Audits/Assessments: Develop, manage, and maintain EHS audit protocols and audit plans for operations.

Requirements:

  • 10 years' working knowledge and experience in E&P field operations.
  • 5 years' field-based EHS support role.
  • Periodic travel to regional offices and well sites will be necessary.
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS Management Systems, OSHA, and other applicable regulations to the drilling industry.
  • Strong influence and partnering skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • Land-based drilling operations experience.
