Blackstone Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Benefits Administrator for their Healthcare Security Client in Southern California.

Position Overview:

The Benefits Administrator is tasked with overseeing and managing the daily functions of group benefits programs, which encompass various offerings such as health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement plans. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service while developing high-quality benefits solutions. The administrator is also responsible for exploring new benefits options, enhancing current programs, and supervising the administration of benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on employee benefits plans and vendors to determine optimal value.
  • Design, propose, and implement innovative benefits programs while assessing potential plan structures and cost implications.
  • Negotiate with vendors and third-party administrators to secure favorable plans and rates.
  • Act as the primary liaison for plan vendors and external administrators.
  • Facilitate the transfer of data to external partners for services, premiums, and plan management.
  • Review and enhance internal processes to optimize costs and improve efficiency.
  • Document and uphold administrative procedures for designated benefits processes.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant government regulations and maintain timely and accurate reporting.
  • Manage daily benefits processing, including enrollments, terminations, and claims.
  • Oversee the maintenance of employee benefits records and update payroll systems accordingly.
  • Compile employee data for monthly billing and prepare vouchers for administrative fee payments.
  • Review and allocate group health and dental claims on a monthly basis.
  • Audit the performance and accuracy of benefits administration tasks.
  • Analyze current benefits offerings, assessing usage, coverage, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct plan audits and prepare data for actuarial evaluations.
  • Monitor industry trends and complete benefits surveys to inform future program designs.
  • Evaluate administrative costs and propose strategies for cost containment.
  • Provide customer service support to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create communication materials to enhance understanding of the benefits package.
  • Design and distribute orientation materials for benefits enrollment and plan descriptions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS and benefits databases.
  • Experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of benefits plan designs.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language and relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, with three to five years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Preferred certifications include SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess an Associate's Degree.
  • Have reliable communication capabilities.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Possess a valid government-issued identification.
  • Preferred: active state-issued guard card.
  • Must successfully complete the pre-employment screening process.
