Job Overview


The Construction Operations Manager (COM) plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the planning and execution of site development, construction, and financial oversight for new Chuze locations and renovations.

This position collaborates closely with the Chief Development Officer, Director of Architecture, Chuze construction teams, and oversees general contractors (GCs) to guarantee exceptional quality and timely completion of all projects.

This role necessitates a consistent in-office presence in Denver, CO, 4-5 days a week.


Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage construction projects from initial site assessment and preparation through to final completion, proactively managing and mitigating risks associated with deadlines.
  • Engage with GCs throughout all project phases, ensuring effective communication, meticulous scheduling for each site, and thorough documentation during job closures, while adhering to Chuze policies and addressing city and inspector concerns as necessary.
  • Oversee General Contractors and subcontractors, solicit bids from GCs, and select the appropriate contractor for each project.
  • Maintain high construction quality standards by staying informed about evolving construction regulations and ensuring compliance.
  • Ensure that on-site personnel adhere to all building and safety regulations.
  • Prepare, manage, and finalize budgets for each project location, coordinating with the finance department alongside the Director of Architecture and Chief Development Officer.
  • Facilitate discussions among key Chuze stakeholders and GCs to present project plans, review operational guidelines, and strategize based on local laws.
  • Ensure compliance with owner-mandated processes and reporting by GCs and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure that project management software is consistently updated.
  • Communicate any issues or modifications to plans, operational guidelines, or engineering aspects to the Director of Architecture, Chief Development Officer, and construction team.
  • Process and approve change orders, communicating updated financial figures to the finance department and requesting necessary payments for plans and other fees.
