Glen Raven is seeking a Senior Benefits Administration Specialist whose main duties include assisting employees and their eligible dependents with benefit enrollment, understanding eligibility criteria, providing benefit information, and offering guidance on coverage options and company policies regarding all employee benefits. This role is essential in ensuring accurate data exchange with vendors to prevent disruptive data discrepancies. Advocacy for employees and a comprehensive understanding of all company benefit plans and compliance are vital aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Glen Raven Benefits Support line.
    • Act as the first point of contact for employees seeking assistance with benefits-related inquiries and challenges.
    • Deliver benefit support through various channels including phone, in-person, written communication, and email.
    • Collaborate with employees and their dependents to provide guidance on benefit administration.
    • Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to employee benefit programs.
    • Engage employees and their dependents in fair resolutions of plan-related concerns.
    • Serve as a liaison between benefit providers and employees to investigate claims and explain benefits, resolving issues while educating members on covered services.
  • Act as the primary contact for HR Managers regarding benefit inquiries, communication materials, and issue resolution.
  • Lead the execution of annual open enrollment, including:
    • Assisting in the preparation of annual updates for benefit information.
    • Participating in presentations delivered to employee groups.
  • Contribute to the development of benefit communication and the distribution of educational resources.
  • Conduct semi-annual visits to various locations for HR Manager support and direct employee benefit assistance.
  • Facilitate the enrollment of new hires in the benefits program through the Human Resources Information System and follow up with employees regarding enrollment deadlines and requirements.
  • Manage the maintenance of records related to various benefits programs.
  • Provide analytical support and reporting as requested.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across all business units.
  • Maintain vendor relationships to investigate claims discrepancies and resolve administrative issues with carrier representatives.
  • Identify gaps in benefit literacy and implement marketing campaigns as necessary.
  • Conduct benefit audits to ensure only eligible participants are enrolled in the programs.
  • Perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and recommend solutions to prevent ongoing issues.
  • Report any observed trends or opportunities for improvement regarding claims or coverage issues to the Director of Healthcare Benefits.
  • Ensure adherence to HR-related legal and regulatory standards.
  • Reconcile benefits accounts by reviewing, researching, and approving billing statements.
  • Develop and update the benefit administration procedure guide.
  • Provide backup support for the Director of Health and Wellness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Professional Certification Required: CEBS or CBP, PHR or SPHR.
  • 7-10 years of experience in self-funded employee benefits.
  • Strong commitment to assisting employees.
  • Expertise in self-funded health plans, regulations, and claims processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.
  • Effective task prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
  • General office skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
