Opportunity at Optum

As a Per Diem Patient Access Representative at Optum, you will play a vital role in supporting the Allina Health account. Your primary responsibility will be to greet and welcome patients in person, providing a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and entering information into an electronic medical record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients in person
  • Collect demographic and insurance information
  • Check in or interview patients to complete appropriate paperwork
  • Direct patients to their appointment or procedure
  • May assist in scheduling add-on appointments
  • Verify eligibility and benefits information for payers and interpret results
  • Obtain signatures from patients as needed
  • Collect co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs available
  • Use resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues
  • Assist patients in completing request for information forms and submit to the appropriate department
  • May gather medical record information from all departments for collection

Requirements:

  • 6+ months of customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to work on a per diem basis, morning, evening, or night shift as the business requires
  • Must be 18 years or older

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Flexibility to occasionally work other shifts as business requires
  • Revenue Cycle Experience
  • General office experience

Soft Skills:

  • Quality communication skills
  • Dependability

Sign-on Bonus: A $750 sign-on bonus is available for external applicants.
