Job Title: Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist

Job Summary:

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. You will accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, review patient medical records, and position patients for accurate ultrasound procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.
- Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
- Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.
- Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
- Ensure safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients.
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate.
- Accurately identify and label images.
- Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
- Document billing codes of procedures performed.

Requirements:

- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Education and Experience:

- Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
- No experience required.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
- Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
