Job Title: Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Hartford, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to perform general, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Ensure safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 3 months.
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 3 months.
  • Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS within 18 months.
  • Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 18 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Education and Experience:
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

The Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
