Biologics Medication Coordinator

The Biologics Medication Coordinator is a Medical Assistant who plays a crucial role in coordinating all matters involving biologics medications. This includes maintaining inventory of samples and tracking medications allotted to specific patients. The Biologics Medication Coordinator works closely with providers, particularly those focusing on patients with eczema and psoriasis.
Key Responsibilities:- Efficiently complete all paperwork required to expedite the approval process for biologics medications.
- Navigate complexities with insurance companies and pharmacies to obtain prior authorizations quickly.
- Appeal decisions as needed.
- Collaborate with specialty pharmacies to ensure quick turnaround times for patients.
- Stay up-to-date with manufacturer recommendations, formulary changes, claim denials, and relevant information regarding biologics medications.
- Provide detailed and accurate patient education.
- Offer administrative support for study initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with staff in other offices to ensure adequate sample supplies.
- 3+ years of experience in a medical office.
- Understanding of prior authorizations and the steps needed to obtain them.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10 codes, and HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency in using computer programs and applications, especially word processing and EMR.
- Meticulous documentation skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, including grammar and punctuation in written correspondence.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees, physicians, and management.
The Biologics Medication Coordinator must be able to work in an office environment and sit at a desk for extended periods. They must also be able to work on a computer for the majority of the workday.
Physical Requirements:The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus. Requires visual acuity and normal color perception.

The Biologics Medication Coordinator will have access to detailed and sensitive patient information, including demographics, service information, and personal medical history.

We require all our employees to have a valid and unrestricted driver's license. Mileage reimbursement will be paid in accordance with our Mileage Reimbursement Policy.
