Job Details

HealthPoint Family Care is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with substance use disorders achieve and maintain recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients in developing self-help, crisis/coping, and social skills
  • Facilitate sober activities to promote socialization without the need for substances
  • Mentor individuals in recovery, providing guidance and support
  • Monitor client behavior, schedule, medication, and activities
  • Report any unusual behavior or recovery deviations to relevant professionals
  • Conduct assessments and provide feedback to clients and medical professionals
Requirements:
  • Current or past diagnosis of a mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder
  • Received or receiving treatment
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Demonstrated pattern of recovery from a mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder
  • Proven work experience as a Peer Support Specialist or similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of resilience, recovery, and wellness
  • Attitude consistent with a recovery and wellness orientation
  • Highly compassionate and attentive to details
