Position Overview

The Concrete Cutting Trainee will be responsible for assisting in various concrete and asphalt removal tasks while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Ford F-550 flatbed truck equipped with a dump bed.
  • Perform general labor tasks independently or collaboratively with team members.
  • Utilize tools such as burke bars, 2-wheel dollies, and jackhammers for concrete and asphalt removal.
  • Engage in interior demolition, including the removal of drywall, metal or wood stud walls, drop ceilings, plumbing pipes, and electrical conduits.
  • Work effectively as part of a crew or independently on various job sites.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Be available for day shifts, with potential night and weekend work, including out-of-town assignments as needed.
  • Ensure reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Wear steel-toe leather work boots as required.
  • Read and comprehend job tickets, safety plans, and complete job safety pre-task plans.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and supervisors.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional short-term out-of-town work may be required.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with pneumatic jackhammers and rivet busters.
  • Proficient in the use of jackhammers and other power tools.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Dependable and reliable work ethic.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Career-oriented with a willingness to learn new skills and operate additional power tools.
  • Capability to lift and move 45 lbs or more.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, or rain.
