Job Summary

Gutridge is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our electrical services team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in the greater central Ohio marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct electrical apprentices to learn and progress through the trade.
  • Follow safety standards and company policies.
  • Plan and layout work for yourself and craft workers.
  • Install and terminate electrical wiring, fixtures, and devices.
  • Measure, cut, and bend conduit.
  • Layout and install wiring circuits.
  • Use power tools and hand tools for drilling and cutting.
  • Pull and push wire through raceways and cable trays.
  • Trace out short circuits and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Perform electrical repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
  • Work in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Use resources wisely and maintain company tools and equipment.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Set daily goals and review them with your supervisor and crew members.
  • Read meters and provide own hand tools and some power tools.
  • Read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Must have OSHA 10 and be willing to obtain OSHA 30 if not already acquired.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This role requires the ability to climb stairs, ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction in adverse weather conditions. You will be exposed to loud machinery and equipment. You must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and without assistance.

Candidates for this position must possess a valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation. A 40-hour work week is standard, and overtime is expected when needed. With prior notification, applicants must be willing to work flexible hours, including night and weekend work.
