About AVES: Established in 2014, AVES has experienced remarkable growth and is locally managed by one of its original founders. We have joined a network to enhance our growth and connect with other leading specialty and emergency hospitals. Our facility is equipped with advanced services including Internal Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Surgery, Neurology, Critical Care, Medical Oncology, and Diagnostic Imaging.

We are proud to partner with CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets to offer Cardiology services to our hospitalized patients. Our state-of-the-art facility includes ultrasound, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, x-ray, and high-flow oxygen, enabling us to deliver top-tier medical care.

Responsibilities of the Emergency Veterinarian:

  • Manage triages and develop treatment plans for both outpatients and inpatients.
  • Provide ongoing care for specialty patients currently hospitalized.
  • Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Formulate comprehensive treatment plans for inpatients, including medical therapies and further diagnostic steps.
  • Maintain precise and thorough medical records.
  • Communicate clearly and completely with clients regarding recommendations, suspected prognosis, and the current clinical status of their pets.
  • Prepare referral letters for referring veterinarians and handle transfer calls regarding incoming patients.
  • Participate in morning rounds to collaborate with specialists on hospitalized patients.
  • Contribute to a positive work culture and a cohesive team of emergency veterinarians.

Requirements:

  • DVM or VMD licensed to practice veterinary medicine.
  • Active DEA license.
  • Prior emergency experience; internship training is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
