The Finance and Accounting's Structured Finance division (WFASF) is tasked with the accounting and valuation review of financial instruments related to capital markets and liquid investment portfolios.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst:
Ensure the precision and relevance of accounting and valuation data, systems, and reporting outputs concerning capital markets and investment portfolios.
This encompasses, but is not limited to, reviewing ledger inputs, maintaining ledgers, and conducting reconciliations to verify ledger accuracy.
Analyze accounting and valuation outcomes related to financial instruments to ensure alignment with expectations and business objectives, or to document any discrepancies comprehensively.
Prepare and review various statutory and management reports as required by the department.
Assist in daily control and review processes, including performing system reconciliations, investigating control discrepancies, and preparing necessary correcting journal entries.
Develop analytical tools, conduct analyses, formulate expectations, prepare commentaries, and proactively suggest and implement solutions.
Engage in departmental projects and business initiatives.
Selection Criteria:
The Financial Analyst is expected to possess a university degree in finance or accounting, with a minimum of three years of experience in the financial sector.
Knowledge of financial instruments, particularly capital markets and money market instruments, is highly desirable. Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-lookups, macros, and other data-related functions, is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
Professional accounting or finance qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) and/or CFA; and
A minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
Experience with a financial institution or a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.
