Family Services Advocate

Job Summary:
The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Services Case Worker to join our team. As a key member of our social services department, you will provide front-line assistance to individuals and families in need, advocating for their well-being and connecting them with essential resources.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct client interviews and needs assessments to identify areas of support
- Develop and implement case management plans to address client needs
- Provide emergency food and direct financial assistance, including rent, utilities, and prescriptions
- Assist with the receiving and processing of food, as directed by the Director of Social Services
- Prepare and submit reports and statistics, as required
- Maintain an active information and referral system, ensuring clients receive the support they need
- Perform light janitorial duties, as needed
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions, including Divisional/Territorial Social Services Conferences and Protecting the Mission - child safety training
- Participate in seasonal efforts, such as Summer Camp Registrations, Christmas Intake/Distribution, toy sorting, and data entry
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent required; AA degree or comparable years of work experience preferred
- Must submit to and pass a background check
- Must complete Protecting the Mission - child safety training
- Must possess a valid Driver's License and be at least 21 years old
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic team, maintain confidentiality, and relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic office equipment
