Summer Programs Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Educational Specialist II-Summer and Expanded Learning to support the planning, development, and management of district-sponsored summer programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with schools and community partners.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of district-sponsored summer programs, including planning, budgeting, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with schools and community partners to ensure successful program implementation and high-quality educational experiences for students.
- Provide technical assistance and support to schools and program staff to ensure compliance with state and district requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, vendors, and stakeholders to identify and secure resources and support for summer programs.
- Manage and coordinate summer program logistics, including scheduling, staffing, and budgeting.
- Develop and implement professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in summer programming.
- Masters degree in education or related field.
- Valid Maryland State Department of Education Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) with applicable endorsement.
- Three years teaching experience, including experience in teaching, managing, and supporting summer programming at the school or district level.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver professional development and training to teachers and staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make persuasive presentations.
- Interpersonal skills that ensure effective teambuilding and understanding for the team process.
- Skilled in interpreting, understanding, and applying data to inform program decisions.
