Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance team at Brightmark. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead the maintenance team, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and on schedule.
  • Work Order Management: Oversee the completion of work orders and ensure accurate data entry into the work order system.
  • Contract Management: Coordinate and monitor contract work related to building and facility maintenance.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory control, and purchasing to ensure proper parts, gaskets, and fittings are used.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering to verify maintenance procedures and standards are followed.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure maintenance checkboxes and protocols are diligently followed.
  • Training and Development: Assist in setting up training programs for the maintenance team.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with all team members and departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • System Development: Support the development and implementation of new maintenance systems for the facility.
  • Talent Management: Assess the maintenance resource needs to determine the optimal blend of talents on the maintenance team as business needs evolve.
  • Leadership Development: Develop lead members to further their leadership skills and effectiveness in driving the systems needed for world-class performance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Maintenance Management System Admin, Parts Inventory Control Specialist, and Project Management Specialist to achieve the vision of the Maintenance Manager as defined in the maintenance pillars.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance supervisory role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, work order systems, and inventory management.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and contractors.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Leadership: Effective communication skills in multiple settings and the ability to be an engaging change agent and culture creator that can inspire and motivate.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to make decisions and recommendations.
  • Teamwork: Ability and proven record of accomplishment of working with diverse individuals at all levels to drive decision-making and results.
  • Impact: Ability to impact and influence results with personal interaction, guidance, and coaching.
  • Dependability: Dependable and a team player.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to consistently lift to 50 lbs.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and work on a computer for lengthy periods of time during the workday.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in industrial operations, refinery, or petrochemical settings.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other software tools for data management and reporting.

  • Health and Safety: Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety.
  • Risk Reporting: Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace.
