Job Summary

The Director of IT Financial Management will lead the financial strategy and operations of the university's IT department, ensuring alignment with the university's overall business objectives and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the financial activities and procurement processes to ensure seamless operations and optimal resource utilization.
  • Develop and execute robust financial strategies, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-term financial planning.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes and enhance the financial performance of the IT department.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with university policies, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, optimize the use of financial resources, and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Requirements
  • Seven years of experience working in finance, accounting, budgeting, procurement/vendor management, billing, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience managing procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and compliance.
  • Experience managing cash flow and ensuring that organizations have adequate liquidity to meet obligations.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting complex technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten or more years of experience working in finance, accounting, budgeting, procurement/vendor management, billing, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Six or more years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university.
