Reporting directly to the Vice President, you will manage a diverse portfolio of captive insurance clients, which may include risk retention groups and other intricate structures. Your leadership will also extend to mentoring Account Managers and Staff Accountants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Oversee, mentor, and train Account Managers and Staff Accountants, including conducting performance evaluations.
  • Lead the office in all aspects of account management and administrative functions, excluding operations staff.
  • Guarantee that designated offices are adequately resourced and maintain a consistent review process for all managed clients to comply with financial and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare tailored financial statement packages for clients and conduct self-reviews.
  • Compile quarterly and annual NAIC statements as necessary.
  • Manage the complete preparation of Annual Statements/Reports.
  • Draft comprehensive analyses of financial statements.
  • Coordinate annual audits and actuarial reviews.
  • Stay informed on accounting, insurance, and regulatory developments affecting captive entities.
  • Review premium tax returns and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare regulatory correspondence and monitor changes in business plans.
  • Serve as a liaison with legal, actuarial, audit, and other service providers for captives.
  • Independently prepare and present materials for Board Meetings.
  • Plan and coordinate annual Board Meetings.
  • Ensure relevant correspondence is shared with Account Managers, Staff Accountants, and/or the Vice President.
  • Engage in emerging technical issues and disseminate information as needed.
  • Review complex financial statement packages and create supervisory checklists.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in statutory or alternative market insurance accounting.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting or a related field.
  • Achievement of Associate in Captive Insurance or a similar designation.
  • Ability to manage a complex captive insurance portfolio with minimal supervision.
Preferred
  • Capability to independently resolve client issues.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse portfolio of clients with varying complexities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.

Essential Requirements
  • Must possess US work rights.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • 5 years of experience in statutory or alternative market insurance accounting.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting or a related field.
  • Achievement of Associate in Captive Insurance or a similar designation.
