Manufacturing Buyer I

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Buyer to join our team at Burgess Norton Mfg Co. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring indirect materials, services, and production supplies while ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts, capital equipment, services, and special tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan requirements by product category and vendor.
  • Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate price and terms with suppliers.
  • Participate in global procurement initiatives and purchasing meetings.
  • Implement cost savings proposals, including alternative sourcing and spot buy efficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two-year degree in business administration, supply chain, economics, or engineering.
  • Two years of progressively responsible purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced computer skills, mainframe operations, and knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes.
  • Preferred experience using SAP software (MM & PP module transactions).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Estimated Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
