Technical Buyer Job Description

Superior Spindle Service, a leading provider of spindle repair and remanufacturing services, is seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to join their team at their Taylor, MI headquarter location.

Job Overview

This position plays a vital role in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for both domestic and international suppliers. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating effectively with technical staff, suppliers, and company management to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine procurement requirements for spindle repair components and develop effective sourcing strategies to meet these needs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Prepare accurate purchase orders and maintain open communication with suppliers to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Analyze inventory levels to determine if additional materials are required, and work closely with the purchasing team to procure these items.
  • Adapt quickly to changing customer priorities and respond promptly to expedite deliveries or resolve shortages.
  • Partner with technical staff to identify suitable substitutions and optimize supply chain performance.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock quantities and investigate any discrepancies.
Skill Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and cost management skills to achieve optimal pricing and terms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
  • Familiarity with precision bearings and electronics is highly desirable.
  • The ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
