Job Purpose

The Insurance Account Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting account handlers in processing daily account activity. This includes providing technical support in accordance with company operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date account folders in accordance with internal quality control guidelines.
  • Verify policy coverages and endorsements on all new business and renewals for accuracy and relevance.
  • Prepare proposals, policy summaries, and reviews using various online rating systems.
  • Process endorsements, placement requests, and invoicing, including credit, debit, and monthly reports.
  • Review policies for accuracy and adequacy of coverage, including rating calculations.
  • Assist the Accounting department in researching and justifying premium charges compared to endorsements and invoices.
  • Handle or refer insured's and underwriter's questions.
  • Perform other specific duties as directed by the Account Executive.
  • Pursue a program of professional development and begin studies for appropriate licenses.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with good mathematical and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and research different lines of insurance.
  • Good typing skills and computer literacy.
  • Ability to work within designated time frames.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • License preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and Word.
  • Applied Epic experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected pay for this position is $27.47 to $35.71 an hour, which may be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope, and level. HUB International offers comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages, which may include health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, FSA, HSA, and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and commissions for some positions.
