Production Manager Job Description

The Production Manager position is a key role within our Supply Chain team, responsible for overseeing the Assembly and Quality Control teams. This position involves planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, and operating procedures.

The Production Manager reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain and is part of the leadership team. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Accomplishing manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Working within our internal systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, etc.) to pull reports, analyze data, and recommend improvements.
  • Attending daily leadership meetings and providing departmental updates.
  • Maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolving personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Operating within our time card software to approve and edit time cards.
  • Leading weekly standup meetings with the entire facility and participating in setting the agenda for meetings.
  • Maintaining workflow by monitoring steps of the process, looking for methods of improvement, testing, and implementing new processes.
  • Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Monitoring and tracking employee quotas and maintaining statistics pages for the workforce.
  • Conducting employee evaluations and creating corrective action plans.

Requirements:

  • Linux experience.
  • Imaging of computers.
  • ERP experience (Oracle or NetSuite).
  • Leadership experience.
