As a Retail Operations Assistant Manager, you will assist Store Leaders by providing primary daytime and mid-shift coverage, as well as managing closing responsibilities.

Your role will include direct oversight of various auxiliary departmental functions and services, such as the Cash Office, Customer Service, Facilities, and Customer Support Teams.

What will your responsibilities include?

Management / Leadership:

  • Spending significant time exercising independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including but not limited to product and department strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, and resolving Partner-related issues
  • Leading Partners to uphold optimal store conditions for cleanliness and safety
  • Ensuring performance management for all direct reports
  • Communicating new initiatives; ensuring the implementation and execution of programs
  • Providing direction, guidance, and advice to ensure successful completion of assignments
  • Being accountable for the business operations of various areas, including the Gas Station, Cash Office, and maintenance sectors
  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
  • Ensuring standards of product freshness, food safety, and sanitation are consistently met
  • Overseeing the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment to guarantee product integrity and Partner safety
  • Managing store accounts and overseeing the order of supplies
  • Handling store claims and damages
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce shrinkage
  • Utilizing financial analysis to assess the costs and benefits of ideas and recommendations
  • Addressing customer complaints
  • Collaborating with Department Managers to meet business needs
What is your background?

  • Training from the School of Retail Leadership (SORL) or proven management experience with appropriate approvals
  • Forklift and power jack training

  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Capacity to present effectively to groups of Partners or customers
  • Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
