Job Summary

This is a professional full-time position under the leadership and supervision of the Assistant Extension Administrator State 4-H Program Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing positive 4-H Youth Development programming in the areas of: STEM, Civic Engagement, Leadership, novice Urban Agriculture education, Mentoring, and Healthy Living to underserved and underrepresented youth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective 4-H Community Service-Learning Projects and support local fundraising activities.
  • Establish local Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension 4-H Program advisory councils to assess needs, provide input and direction for program area planning.
  • Participate in Annual Cooperative Extension Program and attend Cooperative Extension Program trainings.
  • Utilize diversified teaching methods, respond positively to university policies, administration, supervision, and other program guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree preferred in Sociology, Human Sciences, Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
Working Environment
  • Working on weekends and weekdays after 5:00 p.m. is required sometimes.
  • Must be willing to travel, and overnight travel is required sometimes.
Requirements
  • Must have demonstrated ability to effectively, create and sustain positive working relationships with community stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Have professional working experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and basic knowledge in computer usage is required.
  • Commitment to Excellence.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
