Job Summary

W A Kendall and Company LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreperson to join our team. As a Foreperson, you will be responsible for coordinating crew members, equipment, and supplies to ensure the successful completion of all jobs according to contract specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate crew members and equipment to complete jobs efficiently and safely
  • Direct and supervise crew members to ensure they are following safe practices and rules
  • Assign specific tasks to crew members and monitor their performance
  • Plan and execute work assignments in a safe and professional manner
  • Organize job assignments to ensure work is completed as efficiently as possible
  • Notify property owners of presence on property and obtain necessary permissions
  • Ensure crew members wear personal protective equipment and follow safe practices
  • Trim and remove trees using various methods, including climbing and operating equipment
  • Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, and debris
  • Designate break and lunch times and direct cleanup of the job site
  • Inspect work performed to job specifications and notify customers of completion
  • Keep accurate records of time, equipment, and material used
  • Complete daily truck inspections and conduct job briefings as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred
  • Must be able to meet and demonstrate qualifications of all positions on a crew
  • Must be able to follow verbal or written directives
  • Must be able to delegate work and take accountability for the performance of a crew
  • Must be able to understand drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, and equipment
  • Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision
  • Must have and maintain a Driver's License and be able to safely drive a company vehicle
  • Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR
Working Conditions

The Foreperson will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and will be required to climb trees and operate equipment. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
