Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the surgical environment with appropriate instruments and ensure proper sterilization techniques are followed.
  • Understand the specific requirements of various surgical procedures and the preferences of the surgeons.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the operating room for subsequent procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist the surgical team by adhering to established scrubbing protocols.
  • Maintain a sterile field and promptly report any breaches in aseptic technique.
  • Provide instruments, sutures, medications, and sponges to the surgeon as needed.
  • Support the surgeon by retracting tissues and organs, as well as suctioning as directed.
  • Apply electrosurgical current under the surgeon's guidance to designated instruments.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse with circulatory duties under direct supervision.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Licensure/Certification:

Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) is required.

BLS Certification is mandatory.

Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is required.

Compensation:

Competitive pay rate of $36.61 per hour.
