Horizon Farm Credit is on the lookout for a Financial Operations Manager to become part of our esteemed Farm Credit team.

This full-time role operates during standard business hours from Monday to Friday. After a successful introductory period, the position may offer a flexible work arrangement. We are in search of a seasoned, organized, detail-oriented, and analytical individual with prior leadership experience. This is an excellent chance to positively impact agriculture and rural communities.

Position Description:
The Financial Operations Manager will act as the primary leader for the General Accounting function. Key responsibilities encompass overseeing the General Accounting Team and assisting the Controller with Technical Accounting duties. The role also includes identifying and proposing improvements to enhance processing and operational efficiencies.

All tasks must adhere to statutory and regulatory guidelines and comply with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (GAAP).

Moreover, the Financial Operations Manager will supervise accounting personnel and assist the Controller in generating specialized reports pertinent to the association's financial and operational sectors.

Allowance for Loan Losses

Supervision

Management of direct reports responsible for Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and General Accounting. Ensures the successful execution of daily operations and ongoing staff development.

Procedures

Guarantees that procedures are comprehensive, precise, current, and comply with internal control standards.

Reporting

Ensures that reports comply with regulatory standards and adhere to GAAP. Responsible for identifying, researching, correcting, and documenting all reported items.

Journal Entry Processing and Account Reconciliations

Possesses a thorough understanding of sourcing general ledger accounts, including their origins, mechanics, and subsequent implications. Responsible for identifying, researching, correcting, and documenting all discrepancies found.

Accountable for overseeing the timely and accurate preparation of necessary journal entries to ensure the reliability of available information.

Education

Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or CPA designation is preferred.

Experience

Typically, six to eight years of accounting and supervisory experience is required. Previous experience in commercial banking is advantageous.

Ability to initiate, organize, and prioritize work while maintaining confidentiality.
Capable of handling complex projects independently.
