ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform all essential functions of the Catcher role.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, animal welfare standards, and expectations for new employees.
  • Oversee the onboarding experience for new hires from their first day through the initial 60 days or until they achieve qualification, whichever occurs first.
  • Administer, monitor, and assess all training for new hires, including but not limited to: weekly training hours, qualification status, attendance, turnover rates, fostering relationships between new hires and supervisors, conducting weekly meetings, and other assigned duties.
  • Provide hands-on training for new employees during their training period and offer recommendations to management and/or Human Resources regarding training needs, concerns, and ongoing employment.
  • Foster and promote positive working relationships with new hires, colleagues, leaders, and clients.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, Human Resources, and coordinators to review processes and product specifications.
  • Engage in HR and company committees.
  • Achieve key performance indicators, including 30- and 60-day retention rates.
  • Meet expectations by instilling Pilgrim's values, providing hands-on training, completing all training documentation, ensuring timely qualification of trainees, conducting weekly meetings with new hires and supervisors, following up with management on any new hire issues, and focusing resources on the successful onboarding of new employees.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
  • Highly motivational and positive, recognized as an excellent communicator.
  • Previous experience in training preferred.
  • Familiarity with all responsibilities of the specific department.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional communication and demeanor.
  • Ability to articulate ideas, concepts, issues, concerns, and questions in a well-considered, positive, and professional manner to employees.
  • Disciplined, confident, and self-motivated.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Willingness to work in an outdoor or barn environment.
  • Strong attendance record and good standing required.
  • Knowledgeable in animal welfare standards.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED; an Associate's Degree or two years of college coursework in Communications, HR, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
