Job Overview

Salary

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $90,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues related to fiber optic networks
  • Review and interpret technical documents, including fiber cut sheets, drawings, and testing documents
  • Perform termination and splicing of fiber optic cables using Uni-cam connectors and other mechanical connectors
  • Makes fusion splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in buried, underground, aerial, and building work locations
  • Detect and repair problems utilizing optical test equipment such as OTDR, Fiber Identifier, Power Meter, and Fiber Scope
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills within established procedures
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in directly related field
  • Certification as a BICSI Technician or similar certification is preferred but not required
  • Ability to read, review, interpret, and understand technical documents
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools, with ability to climb ladders and work at elevations exceeding 18 feet
