Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electromechanical Systems Engineer to spearhead a mechanical engineering team dedicated to the development of spaceflight instruments. This role is critical in supporting innovative projects at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Electromechanical Systems Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Engaging in hands-on activities with flight hardware throughout all phases of development, including design, fabrication, construction, testing, qualification, and operational deployment in space.
  • Analyzing control and structural interactions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Evaluating system performance under jitter conditions.
  • Utilizing advanced modeling techniques for mechanical, electronic, electromechanical, and thermal control systems, with proficiency in tools such as MATLAB.
Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics (a Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred) from an accredited institution, accompanied by at least 12 years of relevant aerospace experience.
  • Proven experience in the design, development, and testing of powered mechanical systems.
  • A valid Secret level Security Clearance.

Compensation Range

The anticipated salary range for this position is $112,000 - $179,000, reflecting the typical compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.
