Primary Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Strategy:
- Lead the project planning initiatives, which include defining project objectives, crafting detailed timelines, and formulating budgets.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to finalize design specifications and secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Create thorough project plans that delineate key milestones, resource distribution, and risk management approaches.
- Project Implementation and Oversight:
- Supervise all facets of construction, ensuring compliance with project plans, timelines, and financial parameters.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to guarantee efficient execution of project activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, ensure quality assurance, and address any emerging issues.
- Financial Management and Cost Oversight:
- Administer project budgets, including preparing cost forecasts, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring financial prudence.
- Track and manage project costs to avert budget overruns, identifying opportunities for cost savings where feasible.
- Compile and present financial summaries to senior management and clients.
- Scheduling and Timeline Coordination:
- Establish and maintain comprehensive project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Identify potential delays and implement corrective measures to keep the project on schedule.
- Coordinate material deliveries, labor timelines, and equipment requirements to align with project schedules.
- Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all construction activities meet or surpass industry standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
- Implement and uphold safety protocols to guarantee a secure working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, maintaining consistent communication to provide project updates and address any concerns.
- Manage client expectations and ensure that all project deliverables align with their requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to resolve design and construction challenges.
- Risk Assessment and Conflict Resolution:
- Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate their impact.
- Address any issues or disputes that arise during construction, including technical challenges and conflicts with subcontractors.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, current, and properly organized.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Guide and inspire project teams, including project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work atmosphere.
- Conduct performance assessments and offer feedback to enhance team performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years in commercial construction project management.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Exceptional project management capabilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is advantageous. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification is preferred.
