Job Title: Web Application Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Web Application Developer to join our team at Goodfellow Bros. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP, MySQL, and related technologies, as well as experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance custom web applications using PHP, MySQL, and related technologies.
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
  • Ensure code quality, best practices, and maintainability through version control and code reviews.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed to enhance application functionality.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of application processes, changes, and system configurations.
  • Provide support and training to end-users of the internal web applications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Web Application Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP and experience working with popular frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, CakePHP, or CodeIgniter.
  • Solid understanding of WAMP stack (Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment.
  • Proficient in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery and AJAX.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML.
  • Knowledge of web security practices and mitigating common vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, SQL Injection).
  • Experience with SQL Server including database management, query optimization, and migration tasks.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in the Python language a plus.
