Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team at Webber, LLC. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket to excavate ditches, structures, and mass excavations, lay pipe and precast concrete structures, load trucks, and place rock riprap.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, to perform various tasks such as excavation, loading, and placement of materials.
  2. Signal truck drivers to position trucks for loading and unloading of materials.
  3. Identify and mitigate potential hazards and obstructions on the job site.
  4. Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, including oiling, greasing, and making adjustments as needed.
  5. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report any unsafe activities to supervisors and/or Human Resources.
  6. Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental and company goals.
  7. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues and supervisors.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Five (5) or more years of experience as an Excavator Operator in heavy highway and civil construction.
  2. High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  4. Mathematical proficiency in basic geometry, algebra, and mathematics.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in weather conditions.
  6. Physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  7. Manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform tasks that require hand-eye coordination.
