Job Overview

Position Title: Logistics Clerk

Role Summary: This role is integral to the operational efficiency of the Shipping and Delivery sectors, primarily responsible for utilizing advanced computer systems and SAP for customer order invoicing. The Logistics Clerk assists the Traffic Manager with various responsibilities, including coverage during absences. Key tasks also involve proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word, frequent data entry, performance spreadsheet management, filing, and additional duties as assigned by the Traffic Manager and Logistics Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify entered data and perform necessary checks within current computer systems and SAP to ensure precise data entry and invoicing.
  • Organize and compile routes/pick tickets for order selection alongside third-party pick documentation.
  • Systematically file all invoiced copies along with pick tickets and load sheets.
  • Coordinate with inventory staff and shift management to confirm correct product lots and weights are included in customer orders prior to invoicing.
  • Provide assistance in managing transportation services during peak holiday periods.
  • Conduct data entry and calculate departmental performance metrics.
  • Enhance coverage for absences in billing and shift supervision.
  • Adapt schedules as necessary to manage workload during supervisor and billing personnel vacations.
  • Receive and execute written and verbal instructions.
  • Analyze and contribute to the standardization of procedures to enhance job efficiency and overall departmental performance.
  • Foster a harmonious and positive work atmosphere among colleagues.

Supervisory Duties:

No direct supervisory responsibilities in daily operations.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • One to two years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word; ability to learn current computer systems and SAP.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include frequent standing, walking, and communication. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities include close vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

This role may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions. The noise level is typically moderate.
