  • Point of Sale (POS) and Cash Handling: Perform accurate POS and cash handling procedures, including operating a cash register and processing transactions.
  • Goodwill Mission and Values: Communicate our Mission and act in accordance with our values (RISE: Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence) to our employees, customers, and donors.
  • Donation Processing: Receive and accurately record donations using technology, sort, clean, process, and price donated goods according to company standards.
  • Sales Floor Maintenance: Merchandise and maintain the sales floor, including restocking shelves, facing merchandise, and maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment by following all personal protective equipment policies and procedures, and performing necessary cleaning and janitorial work.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Work collaboratively with a diverse team, and be flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
Requirements
  • Basic English Skills: Ability to read, speak, and write Basic English.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate a cash register, personal computer, and other technology necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to share Goodwill's purpose with customers or donors and ask for monetary donations.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work with a diverse team and adapt to changing situations.
  • Previous Retail Experience: Some retail and sales experience is helpful, but not required.
  • Punctuality and Dependability: Punctual and dependable attendance is essential.
  • Background Check: Free from alcohol and drug abuse, and able to pass a background check.
  • Goodwill Values: Understand the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participate fully in carrying out its mission, adhering to Goodwill's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
