Food Safety & Quality Assurance Professional
Amalgamated Sugar Company is on the lookout for a dedicated Food Safety and Quality Assurance Professional to spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS). The ideal candidate will gain a comprehensive understanding of the National Sugar Marketing (NSM) Quality Manual and the SQF code for levels 1 and 2. This role will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and upkeep of the FSQMS across multiple locations.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all functions related to the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
- Collaborate with the QA Manager to review and manage all documentation pertinent to the FSQMS.
- Ensure the integrity of the FSQMS system is upheld.
- Maintain certification in HACCP and PCQI.
- Manage cost controls across all areas of responsibility.
- Document all necessary aspects of the FSQMS on a daily basis.
- Stay informed about SQF and related codes, as well as FDA and State Agency regulations affecting our products.
- Facilitate communication and cooperation among various departments to align plans and programs with the Company’s overall objectives.
- Assist in developing an FSQMS training program for employees.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Entry Level – Limited to no food safety experience with less than two years of employment.
Experienced Level – Must hold PCQI and Internal Auditor certification and have at least two years of experience in food safety and quality, either externally or within the company. Demonstrated knowledge and skills may substitute for experience at management's discretion.

- Proficient in technical writing and oral communication.
- Skilled in using computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret safety, sanitation, and work rule information.
- Willingness to travel to other facilities as required.
