Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our coffee and tea products by performing continuous inspections and testing for compliance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in quality assurance in a food production environment and be familiar with FDA requirements related to food safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections of packaged products to ensure weight, packaging integrity, product identification, and cut size accuracy.
  • Perform inspections of finished products for package seal integrity, correct product labeling, UPC bar codes/Lot codes, product integrity, and piece count accuracy.
  • Complete finished product testing as required and release lots for shipping or place holds if inspection results are unacceptable.
  • Assist with the implementation of SQF programs, GMPs, master sanitation schedules, self-audits, external audits, and traceability.
  • Print labels based on production needs and provide preoperational inspection and support to production teams as needed.
  • Coordinate internal inspections by QA and Marketing teams of plant trials and subsequent line checks.
  • Act as a liaison between Production Teams and QA team and ensure correct processes are followed for adherence to food safety plans.
  • Perform all other job-related tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in quality assurance in a food production environment.
  • Familiarity with FDA requirements related to food safety.
  • Basic computer skills, especially with MS office programs.
  • Excellent record keeping, math, filing, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and self-motivation to take on new projects as assigned.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
