Food Preparation Specialist

As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to the guidelines set forth by the Shift Manager, while strictly adhering to the standards outlined in the Church's Operating Standards Manual (the "OSM"). Your role is essential in ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, cleanly, and in an organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the batter station by gathering all necessary smallwares and mixing the batter as needed.
  • Ensure that all call sheets are accurately completed, displayed, and utilized.
  • Inspect all kitchen equipment and promptly report any issues to the Shift Manager.
  • Maintain proper frying conditions by balancing colors and ensuring the correct level of shortening.
  • Perform regular cleaning and filtering of fryers in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Prepare sufficient quantities of chicken to meet operational demands.
  • Cook and prepare all food items as directed by the Shift Manager, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Adhere to designated holding times and ensure all food products meet the specifications outlined in the OSM.
Additional Duties:
  • Maintain a tidy work environment by practicing cleanliness throughout the shift.
  • Ensure that all necessary products and supplies are readily available at the batter station.
  • Organize and keep the cooler clean and orderly.
  • Complete any other tasks assigned by the Shift Manager.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift medium to heavy items (up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally).
  • Must be able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting and stacking of food and supplies from various heights.
  • Occasional lifting of heavy trash bags.
  • Ability to push or pull kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Occasional climbing to reach items on high shelves.
  • Frequent bending and squatting to access low shelves.
  • Continuous reaching and handling of various food items and supplies.
  • Effective communication with customers and team members is essential.
  • Visual awareness of surroundings is necessary to perform job duties effectively.
