Quarry Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quarry Manager to oversee the production operations of our quarry site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient extraction and processing of materials, as well as managing the site's budget and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure quarry production levels are maintained safely to schedule
  • Closely monitor all areas of production to ensure extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard
  • Assist staff on site in responding to technical or staffing issues
  • Alter production in accordance with materials required
  • Manage the production process by setting and monitoring performance targets
  • Manage and regulate the Quarry budget
  • Provide information and updates on performance to General Manager and other senior managers as requested
  • Maintain up-to-date records, including inventory, inspection systems, checklists, and financials
  • Keep abreast of key government health, safety, and environmental regulations and ensure they are implemented throughout the Quarry
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assure compliance
  • Assess equipment, order new materials as required, and coordinate with internal and external maintenance to address plant and equipment readiness
  • Assure all vehicles on site are maintained to a good standard
  • Provide continuous coaching, constructive feedback, general work direction, and hold team accountable
  • Provide training and development opportunities and work with the team to create development plans
Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible shift, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Pre-employment screening is required before being employed by Callanan Industries, Inc.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • 3+ years of supervision experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous work experience with a union shop is preferred
  • Previous use of a planned maintenance system is needed
  • Experience with screens and crushers is required
