Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a skilled Distribution Engineer to join our Power Delivery Services Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for our electric utility customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems
  • Collect field data to assist in developing work packages
  • Review work provided by clients and assess requirements of scopes
  • Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis and voltage drop calculations
  • Provide engineering support during construction and conduct root cause analysis of outages
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial)
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience performing design engineering for electric utilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to utilize a personal vehicle for customer-related travel
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NESC Standards, ESRI, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation
  • Structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations
  • Work management software and job estimating software
