Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Distribution Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Power Delivery Services Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical distribution systems for our utility clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems.
  • Review and assess client requirements and scopes of work.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, guying calculations, and voltage drop and flicker analysis.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant electric distribution design engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to utilize a personal vehicle for customer-related travel.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NESC standards, ESRI, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
  • Structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations.
  • Work management software and job estimating software.
