Healthcare Analytics Specialist

Kansas Action for Children is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Data Science Analyst III. This role is crucial in driving innovative analytics initiatives that enhance the quality of healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
The Data Science Analyst III will:
- Contribute significantly to advanced analytic projects that span various healthcare data domains.
- Utilize intellectual curiosity and a commitment to healthcare improvement to develop analytic strategies that inform decision-makers.
- Engage in the design and execution of diverse analytic studies, participating in all stages of the research design process.
- Work with a variety of data types, including but not limited to survey data, clinical records, and claims data.
Essential Duties
As a vital member of the Data Science team, the Analyst III will:
- Lead and manage small to medium-sized analytic projects, providing support for additional tasks as needed.
- Assess and interpret various healthcare data types, applying statistical methods to derive insights.
- Conduct thorough analyses, develop statistical models, and monitor patterns in healthcare delivery and outcomes.
- Ensure data integrity through validation processes and implement comprehensive analytic plans.
- Participate in team training sessions and effectively communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, or economics; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of relevant work experience, with at least three years in healthcare analytics.
- Proficiency in statistical programming using SAS and SQL, along with experience in relational databases.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
