Job Title: Hospital Assistant

Metro Parks Tacoma is seeking a Hospital Assistant to join our team. As a Hospital Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the veterinary staff in hospital care duties, including cleaning, disinfecting, organizing, stocking, and general housekeeping duties. This position does not have direct animal contact.

Responsibilities:
  • Clean and disinfect counters, floors, tools, and equipment.
  • Restock supplies as directed and organize storage areas.
  • Wash, dry, and fold laundry.
  • Follow proper safety measures and procedures when using chemicals and cleaning supplies.
  • Assist with other hospital maintenance duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must have a meticulous attention to detail and be well organized.
  • Must be able to take verbal and written direction well and work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions:

This position is an indoor and outdoor environment. The employee will be exposed to fumes, dust, pollen, and noise from equipment operation. The employee will be required to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, bend at the waist, squat, stoop, and stand and walk for extended periods of time.
