We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our team in the Department of Nutritional Science at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Nutritional Science and Dietetics, as well as contributing to the development of curriculum and programs.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in Nutritional Science and Dietetics, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
- Develop and implement curriculum and programs in Nutritional Science and Dietetics.
- Assume leadership roles within the department and institution, including participation in departmental and college-wide committees.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field of Nutritional Science and Dietetics.
- Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in any of the above fields with a Master's degree in Chemistry, Public Health, or Family and Consumer Studies/Home Economics.
- California Community College Instructor Credential in Nutritional Science/Dietetics, or the equivalent.
- Ability to create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor-student interaction.
- Ability to effectively engage with and facilitate authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.
- Ability to adapt teaching pedagogy to the knowledge of each individual and class.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Competitive hourly rate of $88.30 per hour.
- Opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues.
- Flexible scheduling, including evening and weekend classes.
