About This Opportunity

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in an outpatient setting. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI exams, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exam Preparation and Performance
    • Review physician orders for accuracy and completeness
    • Screen patients for MRI appropriateness and review contraindications
    • Discuss findings with physicists and radiologists as needed
    • Document changes in electronic health records
  • Patient Interaction and Education
    • Interview patients, conduct screenings, and obtain medical histories
    • Explain procedures and instruct patients on necessary requirements
    • Answer questions and address concerns regarding procedures and IV contrast
  • Technical Expertise and Quality Control
    • Utilize technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and efficiently
    • Complete exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner
    • Administer intravenous injections of contrast material as needed
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement
    • Perform QC testing and report problems with MRI systems and workstations
    • Participate in accreditation imaging requirements
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Respond to inquiries and communicate with other staff members in a timely and professional manner
    • Collaborate with other service lines to ensure smooth workflow and patient care
Requirements
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Two years of MRI experience preferred
