Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Facilities Technician to join our team at The Chestnut Hill School. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

About the Position

The Facilities Technician will be responsible for maintaining the school's interior and exterior spaces, including the playgrounds, sidewalks, and landscaping. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues with building equipment and performing minor plumbing and electrical work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the school's interior and exterior spaces, including the playgrounds, sidewalks, and landscaping
  • Troubleshoot issues with building equipment and perform minor plumbing and electrical work
  • Support the facilities and safety systems in the building - HVAC, boilers, machine rooms, fire alarm systems, security cameras, and door systems
  • Setup and breakdown for special and weekend events
  • Assist and support faculty, staff, students, parents, and visitors
  • Complete project work as assigned by Facilities Manager
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or field-related skills
  • Ability to walk, stand, maintain balance, climb ladders, crouch, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level
  • Ability to perform routine tasks without close supervision and adjust priorities during the day to accommodate facility needs
  • Ability to work required over-time, including off-hours and on-call as necessary
  • Knowledge and experience with painting & landscaping
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help whenever needed
  • Ability to keep open lines of communication with the Facilities Manager and other Facilities Department members throughout the shift
  • Reliable, responsible, and neat in appearance
  • Ability to withstand inside and outside environmental conditions
  • Ability to take direction as well as work independently as a self-starter
  • Must have and maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Employment is conditional on a clean background check, including a CORI, SORI, and fingerprinting
Benefits Package

All full-time staff positions are eligible to participate in health, dental, and other benefits offered, including a retirement plan with a match after one year. Paid T-passes are also available for staff members who use public transportation to commute.

Salary

$60,000 per year
