Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Primary Educator to join our team at the Seattle Institute for Early Childhood Development. As a Lead Primary Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and intellectually rigorous environment for our young students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that align with our educational vision.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to plan and reflect on children's experiences, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Engage with children in meaningful and educational learning activities, fostering a love of learning and a strong sense of curiosity.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training, staying up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
  • Build strong professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in a field related to early childhood education or a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field AND an associate degree in early childhood education.
  • Registration with MERIT (Managed Education and Registry Information Tool) is required at hire.
  • Completion of STARS Basic 30-hour Childcare course. All continuing education must be state-approved and linked through the MERIT system.
  • Completion of at least 10 hours of MERIT training annually or one college credit.
  • Portable Background Criminal record clearance.
  • Food Worker Card.
  • First Aid/CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens/HIV training.
  • Mandated Reporter Training.
  • Vaccination Record.
  • Maintain Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families Trainings.
  • Medication Management, Disaster and Emergency Preparedness, Families Experiencing Homelessness, Abusive Head Trauma within 1 Month of Hire.
