Senior Mechanical Engineer Opportunity

Emerald Resource Group is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This temporary position offers the potential to convert to full-time employment, with a competitive pay rate of $75-$100 per hour. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, in North Canton.

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and supporting products, making individual mechanical engineering contributions on assignments, and leading teams on smaller-sized engineering projects. They will apply mechanical engineering skills to conventional tasks, some with complex features, and independently perform assignments with clear objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Takes responsibility for mechanical engineering assignments, given instructions on specific objectives and possible solutions.
  • Responsibilities include all mechanical engineering aspects of assigned areas. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems, and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgement.
  • Create Drawings in accordance with Company standards, using GD&T (Plastic, Sheet Metal, Shafts, etc).
  • Participate in FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) reviews.
Skill Requirements:
  • Works with all members of a multi-disciplinary team to meet the goals of the assignment.
  • Create Tolerance Analyses.
  • Plan individual work and participate in preparing project plans for mechanical engineering activities.
  • Develop design solutions and participate in preparing design concepts.
  • Create detailed designs, analyze designs, test prototypes, and document completed designs.
  • Use formal problem-solving techniques to determine root causes for problems, propose solutions, and validate the solutions.
  • Report status on assignments.
  • Meet the objectives for specific assignments including performance, schedule, and cost.
  • Use best practices, including brainstorming, reviews, analysis, and testing, to assure the success of assigned projects.
  • Use hands-on approach for building and evaluating prototypes.
  • Work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Effectively apply advanced design analysis techniques.
  • Use approved processes and procedures to assure the consistent quality of the development process.
  • Use mechanical CAD software (NX) and business productivity tools, including personal computers and all relevant software.
