Position Overview

We are seeking a Linux Administrator to enhance and maintain our evolving mission. The Linux Administrator will oversee and optimize the current Linux infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of operating system software with hardware and application software throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, testing, installing, integrating, and maintaining new and upgraded versions of relevant operating systems.
  • Building and securing Linux servers while establishing configuration baselines.
  • Timely application of security and firmware patches, along with assisting in the creation and adherence to patch management plans.
  • Developing test plans and procedures; testing and integrating software and hardware solutions.
  • Managing the lifecycle of operating systems.
  • Establishing, developing, testing, staging, and operating environments.
  • Designing interfaces for external systems.
  • Efficiently researching and resolving operating system issues while adhering to organizational standards.
  • Troubleshooting operating system challenges and collaborating with other teams.
  • Providing technical support to teams regarding integration requirements into the operating system.
  • Maintaining and updating documentation related to operating system configurations and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
  • Extensive experience in Linux administration, including configuration and maintenance of Linux servers.
  • Proficient in creating, maintaining, and communicating complex IT documentation.
  • Experience with domain account management, particularly through Centrify, LDAP, and Active Directory.
  • Proficient in applying security patches within a Linux environment.
  • Strong shell scripting skills.
  • Ability to manage a large and complex server environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Solaris administration.
  • Certification in Solaris administration/engineering (e.g., SCSAS, etc.).
  • Scripting experience with Ansible or similar technologies.
