Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design and analytical processes for transportation projects.
- Engage with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to junior engineers.
- Oversee the design of roadways, including geometric layout, grading, drainage, utility coordination, signage, and environmental compliance.
- Prepare and review design specifications, calculations, drawings, and quantity estimates.
- Utilize advanced 3D modeling techniques to enhance project delivery.
- Develop traffic control plans and assess constructability.
- Contribute to the development of typical sections and pavement design.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software.
- Experience in project design, procurement, and construction oversight.
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is a plus.
- 5-8 years of experience in transportation engineering is required; 8-11 years is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Rhode Island is expected or the ability to obtain it within six months.
